Wellcome Trust African Career Award in Health

The Wellcome Trust African Career Award in Health is a competitive, cohort-style research fellowship supporting outstanding mid-career researchers based in sub-Saharan Africa who are conducting high-quality health research with local relevance. The award provides up to five years of research funding to enable recipients to establish independent research careers. It is aimed at the postdoctoral level and supports research in biology, biomedical engineering, medicine and public health.

Up to five years of research funding; coverage of tuition and potentially living expenses and travel costs to support establishment of an independent research career.

Open to applicants based in and from the listed sub-Saharan African countries who are at the postdoctoral level (mid-career researchers).
