Kyoto University Graduate Scholarship for International Students

The Kyoto University Graduate Scholarship for International Students offers multiple scholarship pathways for international graduate students (master's and doctoral), including the MEXT scholarship via embassy or university recommendation. The university-recommendation pathway can provide full MEXT funding with a monthly stipend, full tuition waiver and round-trip airfare; Kyoto University also nominates candidates for numerous private scholarships. The programme accepts research proposals across all academic disciplines.

Monthly stipend (up to ¥145,000 for MEXT research students), full tuition waiver, round-trip airfare coverage; access to nomination for private scholarships with monthly allowances (approx. ¥30,000–¥180,000).
