Fonds social de l'Université de Lausanne (bourses d'études)

The Fonds social of the University of Lausanne (managed by the Service des Affaires Sociales et de la Mobilité Étudiante, SASME) provides targeted financial support to enrolled UNIL students facing proven financial hardship. Support is subsidiary to canton scholarships and is individualized after a budget assessment by a social advisor. The fund can provide monthly grants, one-off assistance, partial tuition/course fee waivers, or advances pending canton scholarship payments.

Applicants must be enrolled at UNIL in a first Bachelor or first Master. Candidates must demonstrate documented financial precarity. Foreign students with permit B must have validated 60 ECTS in Bachelor or 30 ECTS in Master. Swiss nationals and holders of permit C must have submitted a canton scholarship application beforehand. Second-degree enrolments at the same level are excluded.

Prepare the required dossier with official application form and supporting documents, send the request by e-mail to SASME, attend an individual interview with a social advisor, receive a decision typically within two weeks after a complete file.
