OpenAI Foundation People-First AI Fund 2026

The OpenAI Foundation is offering unrestricted grants to community-based organizations to support AI-enabled work that advances community missions. Grants are intended for trusted, local nonprofits that partner with communities to explore practical, community-led engagement with AI. Grants will support work across three focus areas: Community Support Services, Community Arts & Cultural Organizations, and Community Journalism & Media.

Unrestricted grants to support AI-related community work; grant amount up to 10% of annual budget.

Unrestricted grants will be provided to community-based organizations demonstrating strong community trust, direct partnership with the populations they serve, and an interest in using AI to strengthen their work and impact.
