Norton Writer's Prize 2025 for Undergraduates in the U.S.

The Norton Writer’s Prize is a non-fiction prize for undergraduate students in the United States. Submissions can include literacy narratives, textual analyses, reports, profiles, evaluations, arguments, memoirs, proposals, multimodal pieces, and other original non-fiction between 1,000 and 3,000 words. Three cash prizes of $1,000 each are awarded for coursework submitted during the academic year, totaling $3,000 in prizes.

Three cash prizes of $1,000 each; total prize value $3,000. Prize funds are in US dollars and winners are responsible for taxes.

Open to legal residents of the fifty United States and the District of Columbia; must be 18 years of age or older and enrolled in an accredited 2- or 4-year college or university in the 2024-2025 academic year.

Nomination by an instructor in the entrant’s undergraduate institution is required, along with submission of specific materials including an essay, instructor’s summary, and a completed Information Form.
