Information

The Daniel A. Terry Scholarship provides financial assistance to children of California firefighters who died in the line of duty to support higher education. Initial awards are $3,000 and are renewable for up to four years for a total award package of up to $12,000. The program is named for Daniel A. Terry and has been administered since 2007 by the California Fire Foundation. It is intended to help eligible recipients attend college or other post-secondary education.

Eligibility

Applicants must be the natural or legally adopted child of a California firefighter who died in the line of duty and whose name appears or is approved to appear on the California Firefighters Memorial Wall. Applicants must be under 27 years of age at the application closing date and must possess a high school diploma or equivalent or be in the final year of high school.
