Junior IOAA

The Junior IOAA is an international astronomy and astrophysics olympiad aimed at introducing early high school students to astronomy and promoting their knowledge in the subject. It consists of theoretical, practical and observational components covering basic astronomy, celestial mechanics, spectroscopy, solar system science, stellar properties and related topics. The syllabus expects familiarity with basic physics and mathematics at gymnasium and early high-school level and allows the use of astronomical software in practical tasks. Participants meet peers with similar interests from around the world through the event.
