Goethe-Institut Johannesburg Sound Waves Podcast Training for Audiovisual Professionals 2025

Sound Waves is an in-person training programme for audiovisual professionals and emerging creators from South Africa, Lesotho, and Malawi. The five-day event in Johannesburg (7–11 July 2025) aims to develop storytelling and podcast production skills, including scriptwriting, legal and ethical frameworks, distribution, and live recording with expert facilitators from South Africa, France, and Germany.

Participation in a five-day training with workshops on podcast production, live recording sessions, studio visits, and opportunities for professional networking and public discussions.

Applications are invited from audiovisual professionals and emerging creators who are based in South Africa, Lesotho, or Malawi; the program particularly encourages women and those working with underrepresented communities.

Applications are invited; the call closes on 23 May or after 150 complete applications, whichever comes first.
