The CERN Research Fellowship in Theoretical Physics 2025 is a competitively selected, fully funded postdoctoral fellowship based at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland. It supports early-career researchers holding a PhD in theoretical physics to conduct advanced research and collaborate with international teams. The fellowship provides access to CERN facilities and participation in world-leading theoretical physics projects. Appointments are initially for 24 months and may be extendable to 36 months.

Eligibility

Applicants must hold a PhD in theoretical physics (or be scheduled for defence), have no more than six years of post-PhD research experience, and must not be current CERN staff. Nationals of CERN Member States and Associate Member States are eligible; limited places are available for candidates from non-Member States.
