Information

The Research Fellowship in Theoretical Physics is a fixed-term research appointment at CERN enabling Fellows to develop and lead an independent research programme within CERN’s Theory Department. Fellows join international theoretical physics groups to perform analytical and computational research, collaborate with experimental and theoretical colleagues, and participate in seminars, workshops and training activities. Appointments may be extended up to a total of 36 months depending on circumstances.

Benefits

Monthly stipend (7004 or 7425 CHF), 30 days paid leave plus closure period, health insurance, pension fund membership, family/child allowances, relocation package, training and language classes, possibility to extend contract up to 36 months.

Eligibility

Applicants must hold a PhD in theoretical physics or have a scheduled PhD defence before taking up the appointment, and have no more than six years of research experience after completing the PhD by the start of the contract. CERN staff members are not eligible to apply.
