Information

Konkurs Czerwonej Róży is an annual academic competition that recognises outstanding students and the most active student scientific societies from the Pomerania region in Poland. It awards individual and team distinctions (Student of the Year and Scientific Circle of the Year) and includes a formal selection, presentation/interview and a gala award ceremony. The competition is organised by the Fundacja Czerwonej Róży in Gdańsk and has been held since 1962.

Benefits

Symbolic statuette, diplomas, material prizes; financial award (up to 15 000 zł in 2024) and other valuable material prizes (e.g. a passenger car for the best student in 2024).

Eligibility

Students at undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels and active student scientific societies operating at universities in the Pomerania region may apply; each university must internally select and recommend candidates and may submit one student and one scientific society.

Application

Universities conduct internal selection (typically March–April); prepare documentation (CV, proof of achievements, recommendation letters, activity descriptions); submit complete applications to the Foundation (usually by end of April); shortlisted candidates present or interview before the Jury (May).
