Information
The National Standard Examination in Physics (NSEP) is the first stage of the Indian Physics Olympiad programme for senior secondary students. It is a subject-specific competitive examination that evaluates performance in physics and selects students for subsequent stages (INPhO, OCSC, PDT, IPhO). The 2026 exam is scheduled for 22 November 2026 and the result is expected to be released in December 2026. Merit certificates and prizes are awarded based on state- and national-level rankings.
Benefits
Merit certificates to top 1% in each state and top 10% at each centre; special merit certificates and a book prize for students in the national top 1% in Physics, Astronomy and Junior Science.
Eligibility
The examination is conducted at the senior secondary level with the syllabus up to Class 12 (CBSE) physics level.
Application
Check and register through the official IAPT website; locate the NSEP result/registration link, enter required details, submit and download documents as instructed.
