Biology Olympiad

The Biology Olympiad is an international competition for middle school and high school students in biology. Students first compete in one of two regional competitions (American Biology Olympiad or Pacific Biology Olympiad) in middle school and high school divisions. Top competitors in the regional competitions qualify for the World Biology Olympiad. The programme runs in editions, with regional events feeding into a world final.

Open to middle school and high school students; competitors enter either the American Biology Olympiad (ABO) or the Pacific Biology Olympiad (PBO) depending on their geographical area.

Students compete in their regional competition (ABO or PBO) in the appropriate division (middle school or high school) to qualify for the World Biology Olympiad.
