The Sony Women in Technology Award with Nature 2026 recognises and rewards exceptional talent, achievement, and impact by women spearheading advancements in technology. It provides a substantial prize and aims to accelerate research and elevate the professional journeys of the finalists, with showcasing on Nature.com and a ceremony in Tokyo. The program is designed for women in academia, research institutions, or university-affiliated spinout companies across any technology-related discipline.

A $250,000 prize for each of the three recipients; finalists featured on Nature.com; invitation to the award ceremony in Tokyo; increased opportunities to advance their research and collaborations.

Open to women who are early to mid-career researchers working in academia, a research institution, or a university-affiliated spinout company; a PhD is not required to apply.
