The NASA Beyond the Algorithm Challenge 2025 invites individuals, organizations, and teams to propose solutions for improving flood water analysis using unconventional computing methods such as quantum computing, quantum machine learning, neuromorphic computing, or in-memory computing. Participants develop a problem statement, choose a non-conventional computing method or hybrid approach, and submit a 5-page white paper plus a 2-3 minute video outlining their approach. Finalists and winners may gain collaboration with NASA leaders and a share of the prize pool.

Eligibility
Individuals must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents and be 18 years of age or older; organizations must be incorporated in the United States; teams must be led by a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and include eligible participants.
Application
Submit a 5-page white paper and a 2-3 minute video showcasing your idea; finalists will present in live Pitch Events and winners are selected through judge criteria.
