Information

A competitive grant call to fund one large, coordinated research project addressing knowledge about seabed biodiversity, mineral resources and geological processes, environmental impacts of possible extraction, and sustainable extraction methods and technologies on the Norwegian continental shelf. The project is intended to provide significant added value through its size and breadth and to coordinate national research within the thematic area. Projects must include environmental perspectives and demonstrate collaboration with societal and industrial partners. The funded project will have a project board and an independent international academic strategic advisory committee.

Eligibility

The Project Owner must be an approved Norwegian research organisation. Projects must be limited to resources in areas on the Norwegian continental shelf; collaborating partners should include actors outside the research sector and Norwegian industry participants where relevant.

Application

Applications to be submitted by the Project Owner via the Research Council of Norway's application system (new application portal). The Project Owner must approve the submission and submit on behalf of partners.
