The Iliad Fellowship in Applied Mathematics for AI Alignment is a cohort-based research fellowship supporting work on mathematical foundations of AI alignment. It is intended for candidates with a strong quantitative background and a demonstrated interest in AI alignment or AI safety. The fellowship provides structured mentorship, workshops and opportunities to present research within a collaborative cohort.

Eligibility

Applicants must have a strong academic record in mathematics, computer science or a closely related quantitative field (undergraduate or graduate level); be citizens or legal residents of the United States or United Kingdom or currently enrolled at a recognised institution in one of those countries; demonstrate interest in AI alignment/safety; provide strong letters of recommendation and a research statement; be proficient in English and able to commit full-time for the fellowship duration.

Application

Complete an online application form, upload transcripts, CV and a research statement, and arrange at least two letters of recommendation. Applications are reviewed by a committee; shortlisted candidates may be interviewed. Applicants choose an admission round (rolling multi-round cycle).
