Information

The African Food Baskets Country Researchers Program 2026 invites African researchers to document foods, dishes, beverages, recipes, and related cultural knowledge as part of the African Food Baskets initiative. TenCountry Researchers will be selected (one from each participating country) to conduct fieldwork, record findings, and submit a final data package and narrative report. The program is connected to the TAFS Project and is funded by Sida, with a small facilitation stipend upon completion.

Eligibility

Applicants must be nationals of, or residents and actively working in, an African country and have a background in research related to food systems, agriculture, or social sciences.

Application

Submit a CV (max two pages), a country concept note (max three pages), one example of relevant work, and affiliated organization details to afsa@afsafrica.org by 6 September 2026.
