The Wallace Fellowships are residential fellowships at I Tatti (Harvard University) for scholars to pursue research on the historiography and impact of the Italian Renaissance in the Modern Era (19th–21st centuries). Fellows receive time and resources to focus on their projects, including a substantial monthly stipend and relocation support, and are expected to participate in the center’s broader scholarly activities in Florence. Up to four fellowships are awarded each year for four or six months.

Eligibility

Scholars must hold a PhD at the time of application and be able to carry out most of the research in Florence; applicants should be fluent in English and have familiarity with Italian.
