Berlin Prize at the American Academy in Berlin 2027-2028

The Berlin Prize is a fully funded fellowship for individuals in the arts, humanities, social sciences, law, journalism, and public policy. Fellows receive a stipend and living support to pursue independent study or projects during a semester-long residency in Berlin, Germany, with opportunities for lectures, public engagements, and collaboration within the Berlin intellectual community. The program selects roughly two dozen fellows each year through a rigorous competitive process.

Monthly stipend, travel, housing, partial board, library access, professional networking, opportunities to present work through lectures and events in Berlin.

Fellows come from a broad range of disciplines in the humanities, social sciences, law, journalism, and public policy; U.S. citizens and permanent residents are eligible, with various requirements by field including demonstrated publication or significant record of work for non-academic disciplines.
