Information

The Visiting Speakers to the UK (Scheme 2) grant provides partial financial support for a visitor to the UK, the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands who will give lectures in at least three separate institutions. Grants contribute towards travel, accommodation and subsistence, and may include a supplement for caring costs. Awards are intended as partial contributions and applicants are expected to seek additional support from host institutions.

Benefits

Up to £2,000 towards travel, accommodation and subsistence (limit £160/day) and up to £200 for caring costs.

Eligibility

Applicants should be a mathematician based in the UK, the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands when the visit is planned; applicants based outside the UK must provide proof they will have relocated to the UK by the time of their visit. PhD students are not eligible. Non‑LMS members need an LMS member to counter-sign the application.

Application

Submit an online application via the London Mathematical Society grant application portal while logged into or registered for a user account; provisional lecture bookings should normally be in place and non‑members require an LMS member to counter-sign.
