Information

The LMS Joint Research Groups (Scheme 3) is a grant scheme to support research groups of mathematicians who collaborate through regular meetings. Groups must include mathematicians working in at least three different locations with a common research interest and normally hold meetings in rotation among institutions. Grants support the costs of meetings and related activities over one year, with reporting required.

Up to £2,400 to cover meeting-related expenses over one year, including travel, accommodation, subsistence, caring costs and online support contributions

Eligibility

Applicants can be any mathematician based in the UK, the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands; PhD students are not eligible to apply. Applications must be made by a nominated grant-holder with the support of collaborators from at least two further institutions; non-members need an LMS member to support the application.

Application

Submit an online application via the LMS grants portal (must be logged into/user registered). Application by a nominated grant-holder with required institutional support; applicants are encouraged to consult the Grants Administrator or Committee chair for queries.
