Information

The Research Reboot / Research in Pairs scheme provides short grants to enable mathematicians to focus entirely on research for periods of between two working days and one working week. Grants are intended to support specific research projects and may cover travel, accommodation, subsistence, caring costs and other necessary expenses. The scheme is open to mathematicians based in the UK, the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands and welcomes applications from PhD students.

Benefits

Funding toward travel, accommodation, subsistence and other necessary expenses for a short research retreat; additional funding for caring costs where applicable (up to an extra £160 per day).

Eligibility

Applicants should be a mathematician based in the UK, the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands when the research activity is planned; applicants based outside the UK at the time of application must provide proof of relocation to the UK by the time of the research activity. PhD students are welcome to apply. Non-LMS members need an LMS member to support the application.
