Information

Collaborations with Developing Countries (Scheme 5) is a grant from the London Mathematical Society to support collaborative research visits between mathematicians in the UK, the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands and mathematicians in developing countries. Grants may support either a visit to a developing country by the grant holder or a visit to the grant holder's UK home base by a named mathematician from an eligible developing country. Visits are intended to be for collaborative research or academic activities and are normally at least 14 days in duration.

Benefits

Contribution towards travel, accommodation and subsistence costs; up to £200 for caring costs for dependents

Eligibility

Applicants must be a mathematician based in the UK, the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands at the time of the planned visit; applicants based outside the UK must provide proof they will have relocated to the UK by the time of the visit. PhD students are not eligible; non-LMS members need an LMS member to counter-sign the application.

Submit an online application via the LMS grant application form (login or register required); applicants must provide required details and, if not an LMS member, an LMS member's counter-signature.
