Single-Institution Teaching & Scholarship Project Grants

Grant Partially funded
London Mathematical Society United Kingdom 2026

Information

The Single-Institution Teaching & Scholarship Project Grants provide funding for innovative scholarship projects related to teaching and learning, curriculum, the student experience and student success within higher education mathematics. Projects must take place within a single UK university and produce tangible, sustainable benefits for students and outcomes that are transferable to other institutions. Grants support projects scheduled for delivery in the academic year immediately following the award and require evaluation and dissemination of outcomes.

Benefits

Up to £2,000 in funding for the project; mandatory academic and financial reporting; strong project outcomes may be invited to contribute to LMS events.

Eligibility

The applicant (Project Lead) and all collaborators must be mathematical scientists based in a single UK university, Isle of Man or the Channel Islands for the duration of the project. Project Leads must be at a career stage prior to Associate Professor/Reader/Professor; PhD students are not eligible. Projects may include up to two collaborators and applicants not a member of the LMS must have an LMS member countersign the application.

Application

Applications must include ethics approval strategy, detailed evaluation and dissemination plans, and a letter of support from the Head of Department confirming time allocation; non-LMS applicants require an LMS member countersignature.
