Information

The Scholarship Network Grants are small awards administered by the London Mathematical Society to support networking activities that develop scholarship in teaching and learning within higher education mathematics and its applications. Grants are intended to fund regional or national meetings or events and to facilitate connections among colleagues building a teaching and scholarship profile. Networks must involve mathematical scientists from at least three different higher education institutions within the UK, the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands and at least one event is expected to be held in person. A mandatory academic and financial report is required within three months after the funded activities.

Benefits

Up to £1,000 to contribute towards event costs such as travel, accommodation, subsistence, caring costs, online support and necessary technology support.

Eligibility

Applicants must be mathematical scientists based in the UK, the Isle of Man, or the Channel Islands with, or building, a teaching and scholarship profile in higher education; applicants must be at a career stage prior to Associate Professor, Reader, Professor or equivalent. PhD students are not eligible; applications should be made by a nominated grant-holder and must have support from collaborators at at least two further institutions. Non-LMS members need an LMS member to support the application.
