Pulitzer Center AI Accountability Fellowships 2026

Open to staff or freelance journalists working on in-depth AI accountability stories. The fellowship supports reporting projects that examine governments’ and corporations’ uses of AI technologies, with a remote arrangement and opportunities for mentorship and training. Fellows receive funding to pursue their reporting projects and participate in impact activities.

Mentorship from professionals in the field and relevant training; access to peers and a structured support network to strengthen reporting projects.

Open to staff or freelance journalists across platforms; remote fellowship; English for fellowship communications with publication possible in any language.

Submit a statement of purpose, a concrete reporting project proposal, an engagement plan, a project budget, three published work samples, a letter of commitment from a media organization, three references, and a CV via the designated submission platform.
