Information

The Deutsch-Französischer Freiwilligendienst is a 10–12 month bilateral volunteer service placing participants in schools, higher-education institutions, associations (social, environmental, cultural), public bodies or at the Franco-German Youth Office. Participants carry out a recognised international youth voluntary service with pedagogical accompaniment, four training seminars and a weekly workload of up to 35 hours. The service grants vacation entitlement and aims to develop language, intercultural and professional skills while building networks in France and Germany.

Benefits

Monthly allowances, in-kind support (accommodation/food/transport) from host organisations, DFJW-funded travel to seminars and to the placement, DFJW-covered insurance in specified placement areas, 25 training days across four seminars, 2 vacation days per month.

Eligibility

Applicants must be between 18 and 25 years old, have permanent residence in Germany and French language skills at approximately A2/B1; previous service civique/IJFD beneficiaries are not eligible. Residence-title conditions apply for non-EU nationals living in Germany.
