Traineeship/PhD Traineeship in Forecasting and Policy Modelling

The Traineeship/PhD Traineeship in Forecasting and Policy Modelling is a paid traineeship within the Forecasting and Policy Modelling Division of the Directorate General Economics at the European Central Bank. It is aimed at students and recent graduates with strong quantitative skills who will contribute to the development and maintenance of macroeconomic, time series, machine learning and deep learning models and related datasets. Trainees work full time in Frankfurt am Main on tasks supporting model-based macroeconomic projections, policy analysis and research and gain hands-on experience in economic modelling and programming. The traineeship provides mentorship within a multidisciplinary team and exposure to central-bank policy work.

Monthly trainee grant (€1,170 or €2,120 depending on level) and an accommodation allowance; full-time traineeship position with professional supervision and training opportunities.

EU nationals eligible for the ECB traineeship programme; traineeships are aimed at students and recent graduates with strong quantitative skills.
