Carlo Schmid Programme for Internships in International Organisations & EU Institutions 2025

The Carlo Schmid Programme provides internships in international organisations and EU institutions. It is implemented by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in cooperation with the German National Academic Foundation and funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). The program includes introductory and summer seminars and a mentoring component, aimed at outstanding students and graduates to expand their intercultural competence and future employment opportunities in the international field.

Monthly scholarship, travel allowance, insurance coverage, potential family benefits, accompanying seminars and mentoring.

Applicants must be at least in the third semester of a Bachelor’s or Examen’s degree program; excellent English skills (CEFR C1) are required; other language requirements depend on the international organization; the degree must be submitted to DAAD at least 2 weeks before the internship start.
