Gerald D. Feldman Travel Grants

Grant Fully funded 2 days left
Max Weber Stiftung (Max Weber Foundation) Worldwide 2026

Information

The Gerald D. Feldman Travel Grant Program supports researchers conducting international academic work in the humanities and social sciences. The grant helps scholars undertake short-term research placements at foreign institutes by reducing financial barriers to international academic mobility. Funding follows Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) rates and may include travel costs, daily rates and, where available, affordable accommodation at host institutes. Preference is given to projects related to the research priorities of the Foundation’s institutes/branches.

Benefits

Documented travel costs to/from the host institute; daily subsistence rates (€34–€66 depending on host country); possible affordable accommodation at host institutes' guest rooms where available.

Eligibility

Highly qualified humanities and social science academics of any nationality whose highest degree is at least a Master, M.A., state examination or German Diplom; doctoral students may also apply (publications not mandatory for doctoral applicants). Applications with projects related to the Foundation’s institutes’ research priorities will take precedence. No age restriction.

Application

Submit a complete application via the Foundation's application portal in German or English including application form, academic CV, research presentation (max. 2000 words), copies of certificates, list of publications (not mandatory for PhD students), and a reference opinion sent directly by the reviewer via email; a host supervision letter is mandatory for research stays in Germany.
