Africa Research Excellence Fund (AREF) Online 2025

Information

This fully online programme aims to help early-career health and health-related researchers in African countries develop grant writing and proposal development skills. It consists of eight 3-hour sessions held between March 17, 2025 and May 5, 2025, with a six-week break to work on a mini proposal and peer-review colleagues' proposals.

Benefits

Training in grant writing, forming a research niche, understanding funders’ requirements, and practice with proposal planning and peer review; preparation for fellowship interviews.

Eligibility

Citizenship of an African country and being in the early stages of a research career, with recent research education and active pursuit of independent funding.
