Information

The Simons HBCU Centers of Excellence program funds up to two Centers of Excellence at Historically Black Colleges and Universities to advance research in mathematics, neuroscience, physics and ecology & evolutionary biology. The program aims to foster research excellence, computational and data-driven approaches, and to provide pathways for students to enroll in graduate STEM programs. Each Center must be anchored at a single HBCU and may collaborate with nearby institutions and other research partners.

Eligibility

An accredited Historically Black College or University may establish a Center of Excellence; proposals must be led by a tenured faculty member at an HBCU, and centers should plan to collaborate with nearby institutions and potentially other leading research institutes.
