Information

The Synthetic Plant Biology program funds research that applies engineering principles to advance plant biology, with goals including development of sensors, stress-tolerance engineering, and exploration of growth trade-offs. Projects are intended to be exploratory and high-risk with potential for significant impact, and preliminary data are not required at the application stage.

Benefits

Grant funding for research (staff, equipment, travel, and related project costs) for selected projects; multi-year support (three years).

Eligibility

Eligible applicants are PIs with a Ph.D. or equivalent and a faculty position at a college, university, research institute, or equivalent organization capable of receiving grant funding; there is no citizenship requirement for PIs.
