EMBO Postdoctoral Fellowships

EMBO Postdoctoral Fellowships provide international mobility and research opportunities for postdoctoral researchers in the life sciences. Fellowships are awarded for a period of 1 to 2 years and include grants to host institutions to cover the cost of employment. Fellows may receive travel and relocation support, access to the EMBO Fellows’ Network and free participation in EMBO Laboratory Leadership Courses for postdocs.

1–2 year fellowship; grant covering employment costs; travel and relocation lump sum (if eligible); membership of EMBO Fellows’ Network; free access to EMBO Laboratory Leadership Courses for postdocs.

Applicants must hold a doctorate or equivalent at the start of the fellowship; for applicants who already hold a PhD it must have been obtained within the 2 years prior to application (extensions possible in exceptional circumstances). Applicants must have at least one first-author research paper accepted or published in an international peer-reviewed journal. Applications must involve movement between countries and not be to the country where the PhD was obtained or to a laboratory where the applicant worked for more than six months previously.
