CJID/UNESCO Global Media Defence Fund Storytelling Fellowship for Environmental Journalists in West Africa 2026

The CJID/UNESCO Global Media Defence Fund Storytelling Fellowship is a six-month programme for environmental journalists in West Africa, run by the Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development in partnership with UNESCO GMDF. It aims to train and mentor journalists to conduct investigative reporting on violence against environmental reporters, support the production and dissemination of stories, and ensure publication in line with international standards.

Open to professional journalists currently resident in Ghana, Liberia, The Gambia, Nigeria, and Sierra Leone. Freelance/Independent and Female journalists are strongly encouraged to apply.
