Ocean Estate Bursary Scheme

The Ocean Estate Bursary Scheme offers means-tested bursaries of up to £3,000 to eligible residents of the Ocean Estate in Stepney to support undergraduate and master's level study. Bursaries are grants and do not have to be repaid. The scheme is administered by Tower Hamlets and Canary Wharf Trust using S106 funds set aside by the Council for the benefit of the local community. The award is targeted at local residents who meet residence and immigration-status criteria.

Applicants must be over 16 and ordinarily resident in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets for at least three years at the application closing date. Students living on the Ocean Estate for education reasons only are not eligible, and applicants must not be excluded from welfare benefits due to their immigration status.
