IWMF Kim Wall Memorial Fund 2025

Grants up to $5,000 are awarded to journalists for reporting-related costs. The fund supports women or nonbinary reporters covering subculture and related topics, to help pursue stories in line with Kim Wall’s spirit of adventurous reporting. Applications are open to journalists worldwide and will be reviewed with grantees announced in March 2025.

Financial grant up to $5,000 to cover reporting-related costs and expenses related to producing the funded stories.

Open to women or nonbinary journalists with one or more years of professional experience in news media from anywhere in the world. Internships do not count toward professional experience; staff and freelance journalists are eligible. Applicants must have English language proficiency to participate, and must show interest from an editor or a track record of publication.
