DAAD Artists-in-Berlin Program 2026

The DAAD Artists-in-Berlin Program is a residency for international cultural practitioners, supporting creative processes, encounters, and collaborations during and after a 12-month residence in Berlin (6 months for film). Fellows receive a stipend, a furnished apartment, travel and health insurance where needed, and opportunities to develop and present exhibitions, performances, or publications in Berlin and beyond.

Monthly stipend, furnished apartment, travel and luggage expenses, health/accident/liability insurance, German language courses (optional).

Open to outstanding international artists in visual arts, literature, and music & sound; established artists with an individual voice are prioritized; no strict upper age limit; academic background not required.

Applications may be submitted in the categories of film, literature, and music & sound.
