13th Summer School 2026 'Fundamentals of Single Crystal Structure Analysis'

Summer School
Deutsche Gesellschaft für Kristallographie (DGK) Freckenhorst, Germany 2026

Information

The 13th Summer School 'Fundamentals of Single Crystal Structure Analysis' is a short residential course covering theories and practical aspects of diffractometry, structure determination and refinement. It is aimed at early-stage researchers and MSc/doctoral students with prior experience in structure analysis. The programme combines lectures by experienced crystallographers with small-group tutorials and hands-on exercises covering data collection, integration, symmetry, solution and refinement issues.

Benefits

Lectures by expert crystallographers, small-group tutorials, practical exercises on diffractometry, data integration, structure solution and refinement, and guidance from experienced tutors.

Eligibility

Primarily aimed at young scientists (doctoral students, M.Sc.). Participants should already have some experience with structure analysis; a basic understanding of crystallographic symmetry is an advantage.
