Manufacturing Scale-up Research and Innovation: Automotive and Aerospace

A UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) funding opportunity to support research projects that convert recent research into repeatable, cost-effective and flexible manufacturing capabilities for the automotive and aerospace sectors. Projects must target scaling up production of recently developed technologies or processes and demonstrate access to industrial-scale manufacturing environments. Funding supports projects that address technical barriers to industrialisation and require matched funding from project partners. Grant sizes include large grants (£4.5 million–£5.8 million, up to four years) and small grants (up to £600,000, up to two years), with UKRI funding 80% of the full economic cost.

Project grant funding (large and small grant bands), access to industrial-scale manufacturing environments (must be evidenced), and support toward scaling manufacturing capabilities.

Applicants must be based at a UK research organisation eligible for UKRI funding. UKRI individual eligibility rules apply.

Research organisation must complete the Intent to submit survey by the stated date; applications submitted through UKRI's apply-for-funding process and must meet UKRI eligibility and application requirements.
