Croatian State Scholarships for Students in Socio-Economic Need

The Croatian State Scholarships for Students in Socio-Economic Need are a government-funded monthly allowance to support higher education students facing financial hardship. The programme, co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+), provides a monthly stipend over the academic year to students enrolled at Croatian higher education institutions. Eligible study levels include bachelor's, master's and doctoral studies as well as professional training within Croatian institutions. Payments are distributed across nine monthly instalments corresponding to the academic year.

Monthly stipend of EUR 200 (EUR 1,800 per academic year), paid in nine instalments from October to June.

Open to Croatian citizens and citizens of the European Union, the European Economic Area and Switzerland who are enrolled as regular-status students at a Croatian higher education institution and who meet the Ministry's criteria for low socio-economic status; specific categories include E (socio-economic), D-1 (children of war victims) and P (students with disabilities and doctoral candidates).

Online submission via the Ministry's official portal during the opening period, with scanned supporting documents and electronic application form; verification by academic services and the Ministry, followed by publication of beneficiary lists and payment initiation from late November.
