Herzensbildung

Herzensbildung is a holistic educational programme to strengthen emotional and social competencies of pupils in grades 4 to 7 at schools in Frankfurt. It uses experiential, body-based and mindfulness approaches and is organised in modules addressing self, others and community. Formats include short 2- or 5-day introductions, a semester or year-long full-day programme with 20–40 units, and intensive seminars for teaching and pedagogical staff.

Promotion of resilience, emotion regulation and self-efficacy; reflection on values; development of mindful, empathic and cooperative competencies; teacher training via intensive seminars.

Programme activities are aimed at pupils in grades 4 to 7 at Frankfurt schools; schools or teaching staff can arrange implementation in coordination with SPTG Fachberatung Herzensbildung.

Schools or teaching staff contact the SPTG Fachberatung Herzensbildung to arrange an introductory format or integrate the programme into the school timetable.
