Getty Scholars Program at the Villa — Scholar Grants (Villa Residential Fellowships)

The Getty Scholars Program at the Villa is a residential research fellowship programme supporting advanced scholarship on the arts and cultures of antiquity. Selected Scholars live and work at the Getty Villa near Malibu, using the museum collections, conservation labs, and reference library while participating in a cohort of researchers and regular lectures on the annual research theme. The programme awards a limited number of residential scholarships each year to pursue individual research projects free from other obligations.

Residential placement at the Getty Villa with access to museum collections, antiquities conservation labs, and a dedicated reference library; participation in an international community of curators, conservators, and visiting colleagues and regular lectures related to the annual research theme.

Scholar Grants are intended for established researchers and professionals who have held PhDs for at least five years and/or possess strong records of publication and professional activity. The Scholars Program cohort includes a mix of established and emerging scholars as well as postdoctoral fellows and predoctoral candidates across related categories.
