STEAMing

STEAMing is a project led by Fundación Princesa de Girona in collaboration with Vueling that promotes STEAM talent and challenges gender stereotypes in schools. It invites secondary and vocational education classes in Catalonia to create short films that highlight the role of women in the aviation sector. Participating teams receive expert videos and testimonies to support audiovisual production; winners gain visits to Vueling facilities, finalist teams present at a final event and the overall winner may receive mentorship and attend the Princesa de Girona Awards ceremony.

Quarterly winning team: visit to Vueling offices in Viladecans; six finalist groups present in the grand final; overall winning team: attendance at the Princesa de Girona Awards ceremony and an individual mentorship to support professional development, among other experiences.

Educational centres of ESO (compulsory secondary education), Bachillerato and Formación Profesional in Catalonia; participation is organised by class groups of 3-4 students.

Participating classes form groups of 3–4 students to create a short film using provided expert videos and testimonies; a jury selects a winning team each trimester and finalists are chosen for a grand final.
