Information

The Research Fellowship for Mid-Career Scholars funds six to twelve month research fellowships for mid-career scholars working in Jewish Studies. Fellowships are intended to free scholars from teaching and administrative duties so they can complete a significant research project. Awards are paid to the successful scholar's institution to cover a fixed-term replacement and research costs.

Benefits

Up to £45,000 to fund a teaching buyout or fixed-term replacement and up to £5,000 for research expenses; award letter and agreement on approval.

Eligibility

Applicants must be employed at a European university or heritage institution (e.g., archive, library or museum), normally within 15 years of completing their PhD, and have made a significant contribution to Jewish Studies. Applications must be made via the applicant’s institution and only one scholar per institution may apply at a time.

Application

Apply via the Foundation's online grant portal through the applicant’s institution. Submit the Application Form and supporting documents by the stated deadline; referees submit references by the separate reference deadline.
