Studierenden- und Promovierendenförderung (Avicenna-Studienwerk Scholarship)

The Avicenna-Studienwerk scholarship provides financial and academic support for university students and doctoral candidates. It funds undergraduate and graduate study phases as well as doctoral research at German universities and supports scholars with mentoring and study-related services. Applicants must meet academic merit criteria and language requirements and apply via the foundation's online portal. The programme does not fund study programmes undertaken exclusively abroad.

Academic programme and a monthly financial grant.

Applicants must have at least four semesters of regular study time remaining at the start of funding. Applications are possible from the final year of secondary school (Abitur) or if the applicant already holds or will hold a university entrance qualification; doctoral candidates must pursue their doctorate at a German university and all applicants must demonstrate German language proficiency at C1/DSH-2 level. Refugees and applicants without German/EU citizenship may be considered under certain conditions; applicants who completed their Abitur abroad may be eligible only in exceptional cases and must meet § 8 BAföG eligibility.

Register and upload complete application documents in the online portal and submit by the application deadline (upload must be completed and 'submit application' clicked in the portal). Two referee reports are required and referees upload them via generated links in the portal.
