Fulbright Scholarship (Japan-U.S. Educational Commission)

The Fulbright Scholarship provides funding and J-1 exchange visitor status for study and research in the United States. It supports degree programs at graduate level (master's and doctoral) with program lengths and permitted stays described for various degree types. The programme includes orientations, pre-academic preparation and a global Fulbright alumni/network component.

J-1 visa sponsorship; SEVIS fee waiver; orientations (Gateway Orientation / Pre-Academic Program); networking with Fulbright Association and global Fulbright scholars; some travel/hotel costs for orientation covered by Fulbright; administrative support via IIE.

An international merit-based scholarship programme. Eligibility is determined based on affiliation, residence, nationality and individual qualifications.

Applicants register and apply via Fulbright Japan's online application portal and submit required documents following the published application schedule.
