NORAM Graduate Scholarships for Master and PhD studies in the USA (2027-28)

NORAM (Norge‑Amerika Foreningen) administers graduate scholarships for Norwegian citizens who wish to pursue a master's degree or a PhD, or parts of these studies (including exchange), at accredited institutions in the United States for the 2027-28 academic year. Up to 35 scholarships are awarded annually, and applicants may request up to USD 20,000 for a full academic year or USD 10,000 for one semester. The scholarships are funded by partner foundations and NORAM automatically considers each application for all available awards it administers. The programme does not support summer courses or online studies.

Cash stipend up to USD 20,000 per academic year (or USD 10,000 per semester); eligibility for multiple administered scholarships via the same application.

Applicants must be Norwegian citizens. Applicants must have completed a bachelor degree (or equivalent) before the US study start; applicants to integrated/long programmes must have completed at least three years (180 ECTS). Postdoctoral researchers may apply if they can document financial need, though priority is given to applicants for their first master or PhD degree. The application must be for the 2027-28 academic year.

Applicants submit a single application via NORAM's application portal; NORAM assesses applications for all partnered scholarships and direct applications to partner organisations are not accepted.
