Förderinitiative zum Sichern gefährdeter Datenbestände und zur Datenresilienz

The funding initiative supports projects that secure endangered research data holdings and contribute to resilient research data infrastructures. It is financed by the German Federal Ministry for Research, Technology and Spatial Planning (BMFTR) and administered by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG). Eligible measures include procurement of storage capacity, personnel for data curation and aggregation, legal reviews, and integration of datasets into supraregional or European structures. Applications may be submitted following the initiative's guidance documents and procedures.

Project funding for storage, staffing for curation and aggregation, legal assessments, integration measures and development of technologies and frameworks for data repositories and infrastructures.

Scientists and scientific institutions are invited to submit funding proposals for projects that secure research-relevant endangered data holdings and strengthen resilient research data infrastructures.

Applicants should prepare proposals according to the initiative's information sheet and guideline and submit via the DFG application procedures; a webinar on proposal submission is offered (10 November 2026).
